Peter Birtwhistle

A graduate of the well known Royal College of Art automotive design course, Peter Birtwhistle commenced his career as a designer in the car industry in 1973 at Vauxhall Motors in Luton.

In 1977 he moved to Germany, where he would remain all his professional life until retiring in 2012. His employment include tenures at Audi, Porsche and Mazda Motors Europe where he would end his career as Chief Designer for Mazda Europe.

Peter's career is documented in a book he wrote after retirement titled 'An English Car Designer Abroad'.

Now living in Leamington Spa, Peter continues his passion for all things automotive by painting studies of his favourite cars. Working in acrylic on canvas, his topics cover whole studies or details of wide range of automotive topics.
