Oliver Ray

I am a Bristol based artist who’s automotive focus is realism. I graduated in Creative Art and Design and have spent much of my career creating design solutions and award winning television advertisements. I am now focusing my time on the creative processes I love, and spend much of my time working through commissions.

I use pencil and charcoal to create drawings that lean on the nostalgia of old photos, positioning cars in surroundings that enhance the car or tell a story and although I love the idea of people mistaking my work for a photo at first glance, I am keen to show the pencil marks and finger prints so the viewer recognise the medium. I want viewers to understand the process and techniques used to build an image.
