Eugenie Smit

I am a multidisciplinary artist however my focus has been directed towards ceramic sculpture for several years now. I grew up in South Africa and came to the UK after leaving school. I eventually studied Graphic Design but switched to art soon after I realised I need to work with my hands.

My interest in car and go-kart parts came when I realised that I can race if I want to. It seemed inaccessible before. I started go-karting and teaching myself mechanical engineering the fun way by creating sculptural pieces. I am drawn to the precision of these works and push myself and the limits of my medium to create them as realistically as possible.
