David O’Brien
David O’Brien is a mosaic artist and sculptor renowned for fusing fine art with automotive culture. Inspired by motorsport legends, iconic liveries, and the design of performance cars, O’Brien creates bold, one-of-a-kind mosaic works that reimagine the motoring world in a vibrant, contemporary style.
Originally from Liverpool and now based in rural Lancashire, O’Brien first discovered his passion for mosaic after visiting Barcelona’s Park Güell. Today, his artworks celebrate everything from Formula 1 heroes to classic road cars, with painstaking attention to detail and design integrity. His signature mosaic helmets, crests , and wall pieces have earned collectors across the UK and internationally.
O’Brien’s work has been exhibited at top motoring art showcases, including Escapade Silverstone, Savile Row Concours, Shelsey Walsh, and Sleeping with Art. A member of the Guild of Motoring Artists (GMA), he brings a designer’s eye and a fan’s passion to every piece.
His distinctive style has also led to appearances on BBC1’s DIY SOS and Home is Where the Art Is, along with features on BBC Radio Merseyside and in specialist automotive media.
